Job Description

Human Resource Dimensions has been retained to place a Marketing Communications Manager for an innovative manufacturer of flexible compostable packaging. We are seeking a talented, driven, sustainability-minded Marketing Communications Manager to join our client's quickly growing and remote-based North American team. This position will support all marketing, communications, and PR activities in North America and will report to the North America VP/GM.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and implement a comprehensive marketing plan to achieve the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Identify, attract, and transform business prospects, implementing online channels, tactics, and strategies to warm up potential customers making them more likely to make a purchase.
  • Deliver content, campaigns, events, sales support, and market intelligence.
  • Create and manage the marketing budget to achieve targets.
  • Develop, manage, and execute communications plans and materials, ensuring consistent and relevant media coverage in trade and consumer media (including press releases, media campaigns, and other related content).
  • Research and monitor media for emerging news and insights on relevant topics.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets and journalists in relevant categories.
  • Report communications activity and accomplishments periodically.
  • Plan and execute our client's presence at events and tradeshows.
  • Support the business with company presentations.
  • Support sales by producing presentations and informational materials to move customers along more effectively.
  • Identify, outsource, and analyze market data to shape business strategy and position our client as the subject matter expert in compostable solutions.
  • Additional projects and responsibilities as identified.


Qualifications: ​​​​​

  • Experience in the packaging (preferably flexible) packaging industry.
  • 4-year college degree required.
  • 2-7 years of experience with communications and media relations.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Background knowledge about, and passion for, sustainability; knowledge in additional subject areas is a plus: circular economy, composting, compostable packaging, the waste crisis, sustainable packaging trends, and/or plant-based products.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills.
  • A proactive personality: we are looking for someone who is energetic, hands-on, and highly service-orientated.
  • Familiarity working in a matrixed environment and/or at a fast-moving, entrepreneurial organization.
