Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Post d octoral Research Fellow to join our scientific research team in the Department of Medical Oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) . The Hahn Laboratory stud ies mechanism s of cancer initiation and progression as well as development of novel therapeutic targets. We use genome scale systematic approaches to d iscover cancer-specific genetic vulnerabilities & d ecipher molecular pathways underlying cellular transformation and therapeutic resistance.

  • Technical proficiency , scientific creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought.?
  • Design, conduct, and troubleshoot hypothesis-testing experiments.?
  • Design, conduct, and validate high-throughput, hypothesis-generating screens.?
  • Mentoring of research technicians and undergraduate students .?
  • Maintain detailed and understandable lab notebooks and records .?
  • Interpret , discuss and present research findings with lab members and the principal investigator.?
  • Use computational approaches to analyze complex data sets, including next generation sequencing data sets, and/or effectively collaborate with computational biologists.?
  • Develop figures to depict research findings, write research and review papers, and present at scientific meetings .

  • PhD or MD/PhD with concentration in molecular biology, cellular biology, cancer biology, computational cancer genomics or related discipline.
  • Mammalian c ell line and organoid culturing techniques .
  • Proficiency in molecular biology and biochemistry techniques .
  • Self-motivation , collaborative spirit and ability to work in a group setting.
  • Able to write scientific reports and present scientific findings.
