Working Conditions

This position is physically located in Sacramento and is currently offered with the potential for a hybrid work environment. Consistent with Policy Directive 5338, Telework may be considered with prior approval from management. If approved, incumbent is expected to report to work at the Allenby building at least three times per week, as directed by their supervisor. Travel throughout California site visits, including overnight travel, to DSH partnered treatment facilities will be required with prior notice.

Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) a Drug Screening be passed prior to being hired.
• The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
• The position(s) require(s) Medical Clearance prior to being hired.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:  The Medical Staff of Department of State Hospitals - Napa requires Staff Psychiatrist candidates meet the Medical Staff criteria for privileging set forth in the facility Bylaws. 

This is a Tele-Medicine position. This Staff Psychiatrist will see patients of DSH-Napa via Telepresence from DSH Sacramento. You must write Tele-psychiatrist as the position you are applying for on your application. Position will be filled based upon budget approval.

Cut-off-dates are every other Friday beginning on August 20, 2024.

Interview/Relocation Information

Reimbursement for interview and relocation expenses are available up to $1,000 pursuant to operational needs and fund availability. Reimbursement amounts are subject to Section 10.3 of the current Memorandum of Understanding for Bargaining Unit 16.
